Cllr Lisa Hayes was born in Henlow, and after living in Baldock for a few years, moved to Shefford in 2014. She joined Shefford Town Council in 2018 and is a member of the Planning and Highways Committee.
Lisa is a mother of three; although her two older children have grown up and left home, she is still kept busy by her youngest son, who goes to school locally. She has worked in childcare services for over twenty-five years, starting when her oldest child was six months old. She also worked at Samuel Whitbread Academy, helping children with special needs, and now works as a childcare assessor, where she is the Safeguarding Lead and Welfare Manager.
Lisa is also a member of the Residents’ Association for her housing estate and their Neighbourhood Watch liaison and, when she’s not championing her local area, spends her time cooking, gardening and watching motor-racing.
Her interests include baking, reading, and walking, and she can often be identified around town by her headphones, which never get taken off!
